About Maison Uccle
A local guide devoted to renovating houses in south Brussels.
Maison Uccle publishes practical guides on renovating houses in Uccle, Forest, Ixelles and Watermael-Boitsfort: planning procedures, diagnosing common problems (damp, roofs, windows) and the support available.
How the guides are prepared
- Rules, procedures and amounts come from official sources (Brussels-Capital Region, urban.brussels, Bruxelles Environnement, municipalities), and those sources are cited at the end of each guide.
- Each guide states the date on which its information was checked. Grants and rules change: an older guide may no longer be accurate.
- We do not name or recommend any company without having checked it.
- The texts are signed "The editorial team".
Updates
- When an official source changes (a grant, an order, a municipal procedure), the guide concerned is corrected and its update date changes. The verification date shows the last day on which the guide's sources were reread.
- The status of the regional RENOLUTION grants is written once and repeated word for word in every guide that mentions it, with the date it was last checked.
- Each topic has a reference guide: the general rules on planning permits, the heritage status of houses and financial support are each set out in one guide, to which the others link.
Language versions
The guides are published in several languages for residents of south Brussels who do not read French. The French version is the reference: if there is any discrepancy, it takes precedence, as do the official sources, which are published in French and Dutch.
What this site does not replace
The guides give general pointers. For a specific project, your municipality's planning department, an architect or a qualified contractor remain the people to ask.
